The Ski-Doo Blizzard 440, produced from 1970 to 1984, is an iconic snowmobile renowned for its performance and racing heritage. Over its production run, this model underwent several significant evolutions. As early as 1972, the engine was relocated to the front of the tunnel, accompanied by a new chassis featuring a fiberglass belly pan and hood. From 1977-1978, the lineup gradually incorporated liquid-cooled engines, such as the Blizzard 6500, marking a technological shift. In 1981, the introduction of the Blizzard 5500 MX brought a new coil-spring ski suspension, followed by improvements in 1982 with oil injection and an optimized ignition system. The later years saw the arrival of the Blizzard 9700, equipped with a more powerful engine. These changes allowed the Blizzard 440 to remain at the forefront of performance.
