Vehicle Information
Arctic Cat VIP 440 Snowmobile (1974-1975)
The Arctic Cat VIP 440 was offered in 1974 and 1975 as a deluxe trim level within the Panther line. It was powered by a Kawasaki T1B440D1A 436cc twin-cylinder engine, axial fan-cooled, producing 36 hp. This engine featured oil injection and CD ignition with surface gap spark plugs. The VIP 440 was distinguished by premium features such as a Cat-A-Matic hydraulic torque converter transmission, electric start, and full instrumentation (speedometer, odometer, tachometer, dual cylinder head temperature gauges). In 1974, it featured a dark chocolate brown hood, a pleated seat, a wood-grained dash, and gold trim and lettering. While engine specifications remained consistent between 1974 and 1975, the 1975 model featured a minor cosmetic change to the front. The core engine and the deluxe features defining the VIP trim remained the same. The Cat-A-Matic transmission, engineered by Kawasaki, was designed to provide smooth acceleration and reduced maintenance. Q: Is this product compatible with my Arctic Cat VIP 440?
