Description
The Shaper Bar takes the wearbar design and performance to a new level! This bar offers a unique shape that provides much better turning than conventional bars and offers a 20% weight savings too! The concave side profile on the Shaper Bar grabs and holds snow rather than allowing snow to slip by like other wearbars. While the shape of this bar improves the turning radius of your sled on the trail, the large 60º carbide provides great control and wear on hard surfaces. The "Shaper" Bar is the original and still the best handling wearbar in the industry since 2002. Made from "cold rolled steel" to the patented shape with large 60° degree cutting carbide for durability and precise handling. The concave side profile grabs and holds snow for better and more precise turning. NOTE: Now E-coated in a corrosion-resistant black finish (may receive zinc plated bars -depending on stock). Sold in pairs.

Vehicle Information
Yamaha SX500 Snowmobile (2000-2001)
The Yamaha SX500 is a snowmobile model offered during the 2000 and 2001 model years. Positioned as a reliable performer, it was equipped with a consistent 494cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine, producing approximately 90 horsepower. This engine platform was stable, with the 2000-2001 SX500 being largely similar to the 1999 VMax500. There were no significant mid-cycle generation or engine changes reported for the Yamaha SX500 between 2000 and 2001. The 494cc engine displacement remained constant. While various designations like "SX500D", "SX500R", "SXR 500", and "SX500/R" were used, these primarily represented internal model codes or regional distinctions rather than distinct trim levels with varied performance specifications. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil Filter | Annually or with every oil change | While some discussions suggest changing every 19 000 km, annual replacement or with each oil change is widely recommended for snowmobiles. |
| Drive Belt | Inspect before every ride; replace annually or every 2 500 to 5 000 km | Inspect for wear (cracks, fraying, flat spots). Replace if issues are observed or for optimal performance. |
| Spark Plug | Annually or every 4 000 km | Regular replacement improves starting, fuel efficiency, and idling. |
| Air Filter | Inspect every 25-50 hours; replace dry filters every 25 000 to 50 000 km | Clean and re-oil (oiled filters) or blow out debris (dry filters) as needed. Replacement interval for dry filters depends on dust levels. |
| Coolant | Every 2 to 3 years | Helps prevent corrosion and maintains system integrity. |
