Vehicle Information
Suzuki Bandit 1200 Motorcycle - Street (1997-2006)
The Suzuki Bandit 1200, produced from 1997 to 2006, was a popular standard motorcycle known for its robust performance. It featured an 1157cc air/oil-cooled inline-four engine, derived from the GSX-R1100K, specifically tuned for strong mid-range torque, consistently delivering around 97 to 98 horsepower. The model was primarily available in two trims: the GSF1200N, a "naked" version, and the GSF1200S, a "half-faired" version offering better wind protection. While the core 1157cc engine remained constant, the Bandit 1200 underwent significant updates. A major redesign in 2001 introduced a new chassis, upgraded 6-pot front brake calipers, revised bodywork, and a larger 20-liter fuel tank. The GSF1200S model also received a sleeker half-fairing and twin projector headlamps. Further refinements in 2006 included a new fuel tank shape, a height-adjustable seat, and a redesigned fairing for the S models. ABS became an available option in 1997 (GSF1200SA) and again in 2006. The 2006 model was the last of the air/oil-cooled 1200 Bandits, replaced by a liquid-cooled 1255cc engine in 2007. Q: How can I ensure I select the correct parts for my Suzuki Bandit 1200?
