It is known for its versatility, blending long-distance comfort with light adventure capabilities. At the heart of the V-Strom 650 is a consistent 645cc liquid-cooled, 90-degree V-twin engine with DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder across all generations. The V-Strom 650 has evolved through three distinct generations. The first generation (2004-2011) launched the model with an engine derived from the SV650 and an aluminum frame. Minor updates included dual spark plugs in 2007 and an ABS option in 2008. The second generation (2012-2016) brought a significant redesign, reducing weight, improving fuel injection, and revising the gearbox. It also introduced an adjustable windscreen and a digital instrument cluster. The XT version, featuring wire-spoke wheels and handguards, was launched in 2015. The third generation (2017-Present) updated the engine to meet Euro 4 standards, added a traction control system and Low RPM Assist, while refining the styling.
