Vehicle Information
Kawasaki KLX140 Dirt Bike (2008-2020)
The Kawasaki KLX140, produced from 2008 to 2020, is a versatile off-road motorcycle designed for a wide range of riders. It is powered by a 144cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and two valves. This engine, fed by a Keihin PB20 carburetor and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, delivers friendly and manageable power. All models from this period feature electric start and front and rear disc brakes. Throughout its production from 2008 to 2020, the KLX140 series did not undergo any significant fundamental engine or platform changes. The primary evolution was the introduction of different trims to accommodate various rider sizes. The standard KLX140 model features 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels, with a seat height of approximately 780 mm. The KLX140L (Large Wheel) version offers larger wheels (19-inch front, 16-inch rear) and a seat height of about 800 mm, often with a more sophisticated rear shock. Introduced around 2017, the KLX140G (Full-Size Wheel) is designed for taller riders, featuring 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, a seat height of about 861 mm, a longer swingarm, and longer travel suspension.
