Vehicle Information
Polaris Xplorer 300 ATV (1996-2001)
The Polaris Xplorer 300, produced between 1996 and 2001, is a robust ATV designed for adventure. Initially equipped with a 283cc, 2-stroke, single-cylinder engine, air-cooled with fan assist, it offered reliable performance for trails and utility. The variable automatic transmission (PVT) with high/low ranges and reverse, along with push-button engage four-wheel drive, were consistent features throughout its production. A notable change occurred between 1999 and 2000, when the engine was replaced with a 244cc, 2-stroke, single-cylinder version, also air-cooled. Despite this displacement change, the Xplorer 300 maintained its singular model positioning, often referred to as "Xplorer 300" or "XPLORER 300 4X4," without distinct sub-trims. This engine evolution represents the primary distinction within this production period. FAQ:
