Vehicle Information
Arctic Cat 90 ATV (2002-2016)
The Arctic Cat 90, a youth-oriented all-terrain vehicle (ATV) produced from 2002 to 2016, was designed for beginner riders. Throughout its production, it consistently featured an automatic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and parental controls like a speed-limiting governor. The most significant evolution for this model was the transition from 2-stroke to 4-stroke engines. Early models (2002-2003) were equipped with 89cc 2-stroke engines. In 2004, Arctic Cat introduced an 81cc 4-stroke SOHC engine alongside the existing 2-stroke, marking a pivotal shift. From 2005 onwards, the Arctic Cat 90 predominantly featured 4-stroke engines, typically around 89.9cc or 90cc, aiming for improved efficiency. Trims included the base 90 AUTO / 90 2x4 and the sportier DVX 90, with some later models adopting the Alterra branding. Other updates over the years included a shift from all-drum brakes to front drum and rear hydraulic disc brakes on some models, and the addition of features like electric start and kick-start backup.
