Polaris Pro X 800 Snowmobile (2004)
The 2004 Polaris Pro X 800 is a high-performance snowmobile, known for its robust engine and various trim options. This model featured a 794cc, liquid-cooled, horizontal in-line, reed valve, 2-stroke engine, delivering notable power. For the 2004 model year, Polaris offered several versions of the 800 Pro X series, including the PRO X 800, PRO X2 800, and PRO XR 800, with the latter two being new models introduced that year. The 2004 model year brought significant enhancements across Polaris's liquid-cooled snowmobile lineup, including the Pro X 800. Liberty engines received Polaris Electronic Reverse Control (PERC), improved cooling with a redesigned coolant flow and a new 909 gear in the water pump. They also featured Detonation Elimination Technology (DET) and automatic decompression for easier starting, and were paired with a TEAM roller secondary clutch. For suspension, liquid-cooled models like the Pro X 800 came standard with the M-10 rear skid, with the 800 specifically receiving an M-10 ACE, and Indy Select shocks in the front. Ergonomics were enhanced with the new Polaris Adjustable Seat System (PASS) on 600 and 800 models, offering an adjustable bun, increased storage, and improved lighting. A recall was issued in May 2005 for select 2004 and 2005 models, including the Pro X 800, due to a potential crack in the fuel tank filler neck. FAQ:
