Vehicle Information
Suzuki DS80 Motorcycle - Dual-Sport (1978-2000)
The Suzuki DS80, produced from 1978 to 2000, was an entry-level junior enduro motorcycle, consistently powered by a 79cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, reed valve two-stroke engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This model was not offered in distinct 'Sport' or 'Deluxe' trims, but annual model designations indicated minor revisions. While the core 79cc engine remained largely consistent, several significant mid-cycle changes were implemented. The rear suspension evolved from laid-down twin shocks in 1978 to a monoshock unit with an aluminum swingarm by 1982, a system that continued through the end of production. In 1980, the DS80 received RM-styling, including longer rear travel suspension and dogleg levers. The 1981 and 1982 models featured larger wheels (16-inch front, 14-inch rear) and color changes. FAQ:
