Vehicle Information
Ducati Pantah 650 Motorcycle - Street (1983)
The 1983 Ducati Pantah 650, specifically the 650SL model, was an iconic motorcycle in the Pantah series, known for its 649cc air-cooled, 90-degree V-twin engine. This bike marked a significant milestone for Ducati as it was the first to utilize belt-driven camshafts, a major innovation compared to previous bevel-gear OHC designs. The year 1983 saw the introduction of the 650SL, a notable mid-cycle evolution for the Pantah line. Engine capacity was increased from the 583cc of the 600SL to 649cc, resulting in improved mid-range torque. While the bodywork was largely similar to the 600SL, the 650SL featured a distinctive red and yellow paint scheme, a different instrument layout, and other minor modifications, including CEV indicators, a Nippon Denso instrument cluster, and Oscam wheels. The 650SL model was produced to homologate the 61.5 mm stroke for the TT1 750 racer. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Timing Belts | Every 20,000 km or every 2 to 5 years | Due to the age of rubber components, it is recommended to replace them based on time, regardless of mileage, as rubber can degrade. |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | Every 12,000 to 14,500 km or annually. For older motorcycles using mineral oil, every 3,200 to 4,800 km. | For high-revving Ducati engines, an annual change is often recommended. Older motorcycles may require more frequent changes. |
| Spark Plugs | Every 13,000 to 16,000 km or annually | Inspect regularly, around every 13,000 km, for carbon deposits or wear. |
| Air Filter | Every 4,000 to 6,000 km | Inspect regularly and replace as needed, more frequently if riding in dusty conditions. |
