Vehicle Information
Honda Elite 80 Scooter (1985-2008)
The Honda Elite 80 (CH80) is a highly popular scooter produced from 1985 to 2007, known for its reliability, simplicity, and affordability. This model, which remained largely consistent in design throughout its long production run, was powered by a 79.9cc (80cc) single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve, 4-stroke engine. It delivered approximately 6 horsepower and featured a 16mm CV carburetor with automatic choke, CDI ignition, and a V-Belt automatic variable-ratio (CVT) transmission, offering seamless acceleration and a top speed of around 72-80 km/h. The Elite 80 was primarily offered as a single, consistent model without distinct trim levels. While its core design was consistent, the Elite 80 received several minor updates. Production shifted from Japan to Mexico around 1989-1991. In 1989, steel rims were replaced with aluminum. Subtle facelifts occurred in 1994 and 2004, refining bodywork, instrumentation, and adding features like a parking brake. The headlight assembly was updated in 2001 for easier bulb replacement. Notably, the front drum brake was tweaked in 2005, making front rims for 2005-2007 models non-interchangeable with earlier versions. FAQ:
