The KTM 990 SMR, produced for the 2010 and 2011 model years, is a high-performance supermoto motorcycle. It is powered by a 999cc liquid-cooled, 75-degree V-twin LC8 engine. This "R" model was designed for aggressive riding, featuring premium components such as ultralight Marchesini forged alloy wheels, fully adjustable WP suspension, and radially-mounted Brembo monoblock four-piston brake calipers. While the 2010 model produced approximately 116 horsepower, the 2011 model was rated at around 114 horsepower. There were no significant mid-cycle generation changes for the 990 SMR between these two model years; the core engine and high-performance specifications remained consistent.
