The Sea-Doo GTR 230, available from 2017 to 2026, is a high-performance personal watercraft known for its blend of power and agility. Positioned as an accessible yet thrilling option, it features a supercharged Rotax engine delivering 230 horsepower. Initially, in 2017, it was equipped with the Rotax 1500 HO ACE (1,494 cc). From 2020 onwards, it transitioned to the Rotax 1630 ACE (1,630 cc), maintaining the same 230 HP output and optimized for 87 octane fuel. Throughout its production, the GTR 230 has seen key evolutions. The hull material was updated from Polytec to the lighter and more robust Polytec Gen II. While the GTR 230 is a strong standalone model, the GTR-X 230 trim, introduced in 2017, offers a more race-inspired experience with its Ergolock system, adjustable handlebars, and specific "X-package" digital options, often configured as a two-seater. Standard features like the Intelligent Brake & Reverse (iBR) and Variable Trim System (VTS) have been consistently offered, with the LinQ Quick-Attach System and optional BRP Premium Audio becoming prominent from around 2020.
