Vehicle Information
Suzuki Burgman 650 Scooter (2003-2018)
The Suzuki Burgman 650, produced from 2003 to 2018, is a maxi-scooter renowned for its comfort, practicality, and performance. Throughout its production, it was powered by a consistent 638cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, DOHC, 8-valve, parallel twin-cylinder engine, delivering 54 horsepower and 62 Nm of torque.
Initially, a standard trim was offered. Around 2007, the "Executive" trim was introduced, adding features like ABS, an electric adjustable windshield, power-folding mirrors, and a passenger backrest. In some markets, heated grips and seats were also included. The Executive trim eventually became the sole offering after 2009 in the American market.
A significant mid-cycle update occurred for the 2013 model year. While retaining the core 638cc engine, it received tweaks for improved usability, reduced drag, and better fuel economy. The Suzuki Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (SECVT) was also updated to offer three operating modes. Other enhancements included visual changes and technical improvements such as a shift to floating brake rotors and a repositioned parking brake lever. ABS became standard on the Executive model from 2013. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Engine Oil | Every 6,000 km or 1 year | Some sources suggest intervals up to 9,600 km, but more frequent changes (around 1,600 to 2,400 km) are sometimes done, especially without synthetic oil. The oil change indicator can be adjusted between 500 km and 5,800 km. |
| Oil Filter | With every oil change or every other oil change | Recommended part number: 16510-07J00-000. |
| Drive Belt (CVT) | Inspect CVT filter every 12,000 km | The belt is often considered 'lifetime' by Suzuki. However, the CVT filter should be inspected every 12,000 km. A clogged filter can lead to premature belt wear. |
| Spark Plug | Inspect every 6,000 km or 6 months. Replace every 12,000 km or 12 months. | Standard spark plug: NGK CR8E. |
| Air Filter | Inspect every 6,000 km. Replace every 18,000 km. | |
| Coolant | Replace every 4 years | Some sources suggest replacement every 12,000 km, or every 23,300 km with 'Super Long Life Coolant'. Suzuki recommends its 'Super Long Life Coolant' or an alternative compatible with aluminum radiators. |
