Vehicle Information
Ducati 860 GT Motorcycle - Street (1974-1977)
The Ducati 860 GT, produced from 1974 to 1977, is a classic air-cooled, bevel-drive motorcycle. It features an 863.9cc (or 864cc) SOHC 90° V-twin engine, known as the "square case" engine, which delivered approximately 57 to 65 horsepower. This engine utilized conventional valve springs rather than desmodromic control.
During its production, the 860 GT underwent notable styling and feature changes. The initial 860 GT (1974-1975) was characterized by its angular design, including a "square" steel fuel tank. The 860 GTE, introduced concurrently, added an electric start, which became standard on all models after 1975. In 1976, the 860 GTS replaced the GT, featuring restyled, less angular bodywork, a different seat, and often dual front disc brakes, addressing market feedback on the original design. FAQ:
