The Harley-Davidson Softail line, launched in 1984 and extending through 2024, is iconic for its classic "hardtail" appearance with hidden rear suspension. Over the decades, it has evolved through several engine and chassis generations, while maintaining its distinctive style. Initially introduced with the 1340 cc Evolution engine in 1984, the Softail saw its first major generational shift in 2000 with the arrival of the 1450 cc Twin Cam 88B engine, specifically counter-balanced for its frame. This engine later evolved into the 96B (1584 cc) and 103B (1690 cc) versions.
