Olympia Vernon Pants (Black) - CLOSEOUT

The pants fit to size and the adjustments made for comfortable riding. I have not ridden in cold weather yet so we will have to see how they perform. Only downside is that the waist zipper holding the suspenders releases easily until the belt is snapped closed. The amount of pockets are good.

I purchased these Olympia Vernons on sale at a terrific bargain. For that the pants and Revco get 5 stars. Like all the Olympia products I've experienced these pants seem to be made of top quality materials and the construction is excellent. I bought these pants as an extra layer for walking my dog in cold weather. The snow cuff on the torso make them very cozy up top and the snow cuffs at the ankles actually help keep my feet warmer than usual in my boots. I wanted some reflectivity on them to make drivers aware of me. There is a small bit that stretches around the back of the right leg but lots on the front so they are OK in that regard if I walk facing traffic. There are more pockets than I'll ever use and also vents that can be opened on the outside of the hips, inside the groin area and of course the fly and top snow cuff can be opened. I kind of hoped these pants would offer and extra layer of insulation and they do in the front but for some reason the backs of the legs offer next to no padding/layers at all. The backs of the legs fit kind of snugly and the cold goes right through. It's an easy fix to wear another layer on my legs when it's cold but I was hoping this extra outer layer would take it's place. I just find it kind of strange that the pants have plenty of material on the front for warmth but not the back. I realize these pants were probably intended for a purpose other than what I'm using them and that slight downfall is a reflection of my expectations rather than in design, materials or construction. All in all the Olympia pants are and excellent product and I recommend them for their intended purpose.
